The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, popularly known as PM Vishwakarma Yojana, is a central government scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17th, 2023, on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. The Government of India has allocated a dedicated budget of INR 15,000 Crores for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Eligible citizens can apply for this scheme until 2028.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Objectives & Benefits

The following are the benefits of enrolling in the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

  • Certificate : A Certificate of Recognition as Vishwakarma will be issued by the Government of India.
  • Basic Skill Training : A skill training for about 5-7 days related to your occupation will be provided free of cost, along with a training stipend of Rs. 500 per day.
  • Advanced Skill Training : Once the basic training is completed, interested candidates can also enroll for a 15-day advanced training program.
  • Free Toolkit : Upon completion of the training, a free toolkit related to your occupation worth Rs. 15,000 will be granted.
  • Loan Support : Up to Rs. 3 Lakhs in loan amount with an interest rate of only 5% will be granted to support the business of the beneficiary. The loan repayment tenure will be 18 months for first 1 lakh and 30 months for next 2 lakhs.
  • Marketing Support : To expand or grow your business, free marketing support will be provided by the National Committee for Marketing, Government of India. This support will include quality certification, branding, e-commerce linkage, advertising, publicity, etc.
  • Incentives for Digital Transactions : The government will issue a QR code for receiving money from your customers, with an incentive of Rs. 1 per transaction (maximum Rs. 100 per month).

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Eligibility Criteria

Candidates willing to apply for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana should meet the following eligibility criteria :

  • The candidate must be at least 18 years old on the date of registration.
  • The worker or artisan working in the unorganized sector on the basis of self-employment with the help of work tools and their hands or working in 18 family-based traditional businesses mentioned in the below list will be considered eligible for Vishwakarma Yojana.
  • Only one member of a family can enroll into the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. This includes husband, wife, and unmarried children living in the family.
  • The beneficiary and their family members should not be government employees.
  • Candidates seeking to avail the benefits of this scheme should be actively engaged in the relevant business at the time of enrollment and should not already be beneficiaries of schemes like PMEGP, PM Swanidhi, and Mudra for more than 5 years from today’s date.

To apply for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, visit https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in/ or you can visit your nearby CSC (Common Service Center) to enroll in the scheme.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Full Process (Starting to End)

STEP 1 : Eligible candidates must register for the scheme by visiting the nearby CSC (Common Service Center) along with the required documents.

STEP 2 : The submitted application will be forwarded to the relevant gram panchayat for verification. After approval, it will be sent to the central government for final verification.

STEP 3 : Once the application is approved, the candidate can download the certificate and ID card issued by the Government of India.

STEP 4 : With the ID card, the candidate can attend the skill training for about 5-7 days and receive a stipend of Rs. 500 per day.

STEP 5 : Upon completion of the skill training, a toolkit worth Rs. 15,000 related to the beneficiary’s occupation will be provided.

STEP 6 : A loan amount of up to Rs. 300,000 will be sanctioned with an interest rate of 5% to support the growth of your business.
