The Gruhalakshmi Scheme has been a significant women welfare scheme initiative in Karnataka, aimed at providing financial support to women across the karnataka state. While the gruhalakshmi scheme has been instrumental in empowering women, the recent delays in the release of the installments have caused some concern among the beneficiaries.
Here is the latest update from Karnataka’s Women and Child Development Department Minister, Lakshmi Hebbalkar on the release of the Gruhalakshmi 15th installment.
Gruhalakshmi 14th Installment Released in October: Congress Won All Three Seats in By-Poll Elections
Just before the by-poll elections held in Channapatna, Sandur, and Shiggaon, the Government of Karnataka released the 14th installment of the Gruhalakshmi scheme. Surprisingly, Congress won all three seats, defeating BJP and JDS. Prior to the elections, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had announced that the government would release both the 14th and 15th installments within the same month. However, as the month is about to end, the 15th installment has not yet been released, and no beneficiaries have received the funds so far. Additionally, there have been no updates from the government for several days. Now, Women and Child Development Department Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar has addressed the matter.
Gruhalakshmi Amount Meant Only for Elections? – BJP
While the delay in the Gruhalakshmi 15th installment continues, the opposition party BJP has criticized the Congress government, alleging that the Gruhalakshmi scheme funds are released only before elections, and the government remains silent afterward. Responding to these claims, Lakshmi Hebbalkar stated, “If our intention behind the Gruhalakshmi scheme was to distribute money only for elections, we wouldn’t have released 14 installments so far“. Their job is simply to criticize us for political gains. Ultimately, the people of Karnataka know the truth about how many installments we have given to them.
