The Gruhalakshmi Scheme has been a significant women welfare scheme initiative in Karnataka, aimed at providing financial support to women across the karnataka state. While the gruhalakshmi scheme has been instrumental in empowering women, the recent delays in the release of the 12th and 13th installments have caused some concern among the beneficiaries.

Here is the latest update from karnataka government on the release of the Gruhalakshmi 12th and 13th installments, along with insights into the reasons behind the delay.

Delay In Gruhalakshmi Installments after elections

After the Karnataka MP elections in May & June, there was a noticeable delay in the release of Gruhalakshmi scheme payments. Up until June 2024, the 10 installments had been successfully disbursed. However, after the elections, the state government did not release any payments, causing uncertainty and concern among the beneficiaries.

Gruhalakshmi 11th Installment Released in August

After a two-month gap, the government finally released the 11th installment in August 2024. This installment covered the payments due for June month. However, the delay in the 12th and 13th installments which correspond to July and August month has left many beneficiaries wondering when the funds will be credited to their bank accounts.

Promise of Gruhalakshmi 12th and 13th Installments Together – Official Update from Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar On October 4th 2024

Karnataka’s Women and Child Development Department Minister, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, addressed these concerns by announcing that the 12th and 13th installments for the months of July and August would be released together. She stated that a total of ₹4,000 will be sent to beneficiaries’ bank accounts, with ₹2,000 (July installment) credited on October 7th 2024 and ₹2,000 (August installment) credited on October 9th 2024.

Reason for Delay In Gruhalakshmi 12th & 13th Installments

The delay in the release of the Gruhalakshmi 12th and 13th installments is primarily due to the government’s ongoing process of verifying the eligibility of the existing applicants. According to the Women and Child Development Department, approximately 2 lakh+ applications have been flagged for rejection because the applicant or her husband either hold government jobs or are paying income tax or GST, which disqualifies them from receiving benefits under the gruhalakshmi scheme.

The government is ensuring that only eligible beneficiaries receive the installments, and this verification process has been time-consuming. Once the ineligible applicants are removed from the list, the payments will be disbursed for the eligible beneficiaries.

Gruhalakshmi 12th and 13th Installments Release Dates

Despite the delay, the government has confirmed that the Gruhalakshmi 12th and 13th installments have already been released, and ₹4,000 for the months of July and August will be credited to the bank accounts of eligible women across the state on October 7th, 2024 and October 9th, 2024.

What Should Gruhalakshmi Beneficiaries Do?

Gruhalakshmi Beneficiaries are advised to keep an eye on their bank accounts and the connect karnataka portal for live updates. If you have applied for the gruhalakshmi scheme and suspect that your application may be at risk of rejection due to ineligibility, it is recommended that you verify your application status with the Women and Child Development Department or at CSC centers.

Conclusion

While the delay in the release of the Gruhalakshmi 12th and 13th installments has caused concern, the government is expected to fulfill its promise by the end of October 2024, once the verification process is complete. Beneficiaries should remain patient as the government works through the final stages of disbursement, ensuring that the funds reach the right recipients.

Stay tuned for further updates as the government continues its efforts to streamline the process and deliver the much-needed financial support under the Gruhalakshmi scheme.
